Chinese financial institutions are already putting generative AI into live banking operations, creating an important case study for institutions now deciding where AI should be deployed, how value should be measured and how governance should evolve as adoption scales.

Manaf Gardner Associates and Peking University have developed this programme for senior leaders across banking and financial services. It brings together PHBS faculty, senior practitioners from Ping An Group and WeBank Credit Technology, real banking cases, a live build of an AI application, and visits across Shenzhen's financial and technology ecosystem, including Tencent, Ping An Group and the China Merchants Group History Museum.

Participants will engage in faculty-led sessions, real‑world banking case studies, company visits, and a hands‑on AI workshop. The programme traces the evolution of AI technologies and their expanding business applications, moving beyond conversational tools into data analysis, workflow automation, and business execution. Leaders will examine how AI is reshaping decision‑making, operating models, governance structures, and organisational design.

By the end of the programme, participants will gain a systematic, practice-oriented perspective on AI strategy and digital transformation, enabling them to envision the future architecture of banking and financial institutions with clarity and confidence.
